Repair, Don't Replace: The changing value of footwear

Press

The way we value footwear is changing.

Sneaker Pharm recently spoke to The Guardian for a feature exploring the rising cost of trainers and the changing expectations people have of the shoes they buy.

As prices have increased, so has the expectation that a good pair of shoes should last.

It's a shift we've seen first-hand in the workshop. More customers are choosing to repair, restore and resole footwear they already own rather than simply replacing it.

A worn sole, damaged lining or tired upper doesn't necessarily mean the end of a shoe. Depending on its construction and condition, there can be considerably more life left in it.

For us, repair isn't simply about extending the lifespan of footwear. It's about changing the relationship we have with the things we own — maintaining them, adapting them and allowing them to develop over time.

Through cleaning, repair, restoration and Vibram resoling, we help customers keep footwear in use for longer.
